Life After the Giant

David was anointed to fight Goliath, but he was also anointed to handle the criticism of his brothers before the fight, the doubt of King Saul before the fight, and Saul’s jealousy after the battle was over. He was able to handle becoming an instant hero! He became a household name and was anointed to deal with it all.

You are anointed to go through whatever giants are presented in your life. You are also anointed to handle the repercussions or residual effects of the place you are in after the fight.

We all have situations that, once solved, seem to birth other issues (some good, some bad). But that’s par for the course. For every victory, someone will not appreciate the deliverance. They may go as far as to try and kill your reputation, influence, joy, or attempt to misdirect your purpose.

I’m just stopping by to remind you that if the enemy can’t destroy you through the giant, he’ll swing around and attempt to do so through life after the fight! But you’re just as anointed after the fight to handle it as you are to kill the giant!

And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants. And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand.11 And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice.12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him, and was departed from Saul.13 Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him. 1 Samuel 18:5-14 (KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
