Let Go and Hold On!

Let go and hold on.

The woman with the issue of blood tried everything to solve her problem, but nothing worked. But one day she’d taken hold of the thought that if she could touch Jesus she would be healed. She refused to be blinded by her very real circumstances. She would have never received her healing if she’d latched onto the circumstances. Healing was for her, but she had to let go of all the stuff she’d been through and hold on to the hope of what Jesus could do.

So, she let go of the fact that she spent everything she had seeing countless doctors, and her situation was worse now than ever. She held on to “if I can just get to Jesus.” The thick crowd she had to press through didn’t diminish her determination. She had zero support or assistance. No one offered to call Jesus over to her, as no one knew her plight. But none of those things mattered. She let it all go and held on to her sole purpose of touching Jesus.

Don’t allow the enemy to trick you into believing that letting go is the wrong thing to do. The woman with the issue of blood could have come up with a reason; she had ample to choose from, but she let everything go! Holding onto the hope that touching Jesus would deliver was life-changing for her. Yes, she went through a lot to get to Him, but the results were worth the work.

The Lord knows how to get us to let go of ourselves and hold on to Him. If you’re like me, letting go and holding on isn’t easy, but it’s necessary if we’re going to receive the blessings God has for us.

Okay, you’ve been waiting a long time and have nothing to show for all the effort you’ve put in? Let that go! People came and went without offering to help you? Let that go! Others made valiant attempts to ease your distress, but no relief came? Let that go! Let go of all the failed attempts to try and fix your heart, home, health, and heaviness of soul!

Hold on to pressing to Jesus, and keep pressing until you get what you need from Jesus!

Yes, you’ve got to let go and hold on!!

43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of bloodstanched . 45 And Jesus said , Who touched me? When all denied , Peter and they that were with him said , Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 46 And Jesus said , Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
