The other day, I was pondering a situation when the following phrase came to mind: ‘That is none of your concern.’ I laughed because of the Lord’s quick correction. I was spending time questioning something that was none of my business!
I was reminded of Peter’s conversation with Jesus. He’d just been commissioned by Jesus to follow Him. Peter turned around and saw John, a fellow disciple, standing nearby. Peter asked Jesus, “What is John going to do? “Jesus told Peter, what does it matter to you if I have him stay here until I return? You follow me!
Again, I understood the point the Lord was making to me – I needed to do what He’d told me. Don’t concern myself with who is going to do this or that – it doesn’t change what I’m to do. I am to follow Jesus.
So here I am today, reminding you as the Lord reminded me that whoever is doing whatever has no bearing on the directive God has given you. Focus on what He has placed before you to do. Thank you, Jesus, for redirecting my attention to what matters most.
18Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. 19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? 21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? 22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. John 21:18-22 (KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
