Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

God has plans for you. Yes, I know you know that. But what strikes me is His plans for you include every single day. We often consider the “big picture of life” when we quote Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” But every single day, the little things that occur throughout our day are also part of the plans He has for you and me.

Consider the daily grind of young David shepherding sheep and Noah building the ark. Each day was filled with the blessings and difficulties of each man’s tasks. Those ordinary days were part of God’s intricately woven tapestry of His plans for them. David learned much about tending sheep, including that God graced him with the strength to kill a lion and a bear with his bare hands on two separate occasions. We highlight the powerful move of God (and it was), but it was part of the grind of daily living and working with the sheep.

Noah received the amazing call to build the ark because of his daily righteous walk in an unrighteous world. Then, the journey of building began with Noah’s nod of “yes” to God. And so, the felling of gopher wood began. The big plan God had was to use Noah and his family to replenish the earth. The daily plan God had for him included giving him strength, knowledge, and skill to accomplish the job.

It’s easy to get bogged down in the monotony of the wash, rinse, repeat cycles of life. But be encouraged that mundane days are as much a part of God’s active plans for you and me as the big reveals.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:14 KJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
