I was reading about the birth of Christ, and I considered how brief Jesus’ life was – 33 years, which isn’t a long time to be on earth. But He didn’t need a lot of time to accomplish His purpose for coming. Have you ever longed for more time? More time to enjoy family and friends. More time to revisit areas of life that require your attention? Most would like more time to_______.
Some scenarios can’t be rewritten, but what can occur is to take the time we do have and make the most of it. You can spend time regretting, reminiscing, reevaluating, and reliving. But the truth is we need to work with what we do have.
It might not seem like much, but there is enough time to love, visit, pray, fast, support, sustain, encourage, uplift, etc. We’ve been given some time. What will you do with it?
Mary only spent three months with Elisabeth, but I can imagine what a time they had!! They may have shared with each other about the goodness of the Lord while watching God’s miracles grow before their eyes. I’m sure they spent some of that time rejoicing! I’m sure they spent some time reminiscing about times when they thought God had forgotten about Elisabeth. They talked about the future and what it might bring. They had only so much time, but I believe they utilized the time they spent together.
I don’t know how much time God has given you. What will you do with the time you’ve been given? The Israelites spent a lot of their time in the wilderness complaining. Joshua and Caleb spent their time believing God would fulfill His promise to them. Ruth spent her time planting good seeds in Naomi’s life. Then, she spent the rest of her time living in the harvest God gave her through Boaz and their son Obed.
It may feel like there’s no time left for the Lord to finish what He started in you, but that is the voice of the enemy and not God! The Lord always has a handle on the time for you, even if it only seems like a brief amount of time. With the Lord’s help, you can make the most out of it.
My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. (Psalm 31:15 KJV)
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; (Phil. 1:6 KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
