When Joseph’s brothers returned to their father the second time – they brought the obvious – provision and Benjamin. They also brought unimaginable news.
There was so much to unpack!
Jacob’s sons: Joseph is alive!
Jacob: That’s impossible. He is not.
Jacob’s sons: Yes, Joseph is alive, and the governor.
Jacob: Joseph. Alive?
Jacob’s sons: Yes. He. Is. The famine will go on for five more years. We don’t have to worry about surviving the famine because we’re moving to Egpyt. Pharoah sent wagons to take us back to Egpyt. See the wagons?
Jacob: Joseph is alive. Joseph IS alive. JOSEPH IS ALIVE!!!
Talk about unimaginable!! And to think Jacob thought God was against him when he was forced to let go of Benjamin!
You don’t know what the Lord is doing in your life. Yes, it’s been difficult, and yes, it hasn’t made sense for years! And you can’t see how the Lord is going to change things.
Take heart, neither Jacob, his brothers, nor Joseph saw how their lives would suddenly shift! Yes, he had the dream about the brothers bowing, but the why, how, when, where, and who remained hidden for a long time. But there finally came a day when God revealed what He’d been doing all along.
This isn’t a news flash, just a soft reminder that God has not forgotten about you. His purpose and plan are unfolding in your life. The pain, pressure, problems, drama, missteps, and diversions are all part of what the Lord has deemed necessary to bring you to His desired end!
Your feeble plans can’t hold a candle to God’s.
14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:14 KJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
